Nick Emmanwori is racing the clock for Seattle's opener
Nick Emmanwori is racing the clock for Seattle's opener. The Seahawks host New England Wednesday night in a Super Bowl rematch, but one of their breakout defenders still is not fully back. Emmanwori underwent ankle surgery in July after dealing with the injury since before Super Bowl LX. He passed his physical Aug. 11 as he worked his way back, and Seattle listed him as a limited participant on Sunday's Week 1 injury report. Emmanwori finished second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting after recording 81 tackles, 2.5 sacks and an interception last season. Seattle's secondary could get a major boost if he clears the final hurdle before kickoff.
Corroborating: Seattle listed Emmanwori as limited on its first Week 1 injury report as he continued his return from July ankle surgery, keeping his status uncertain ahead of the opener.
